Childhood memories of the sea, the sand, family, friends and fishing rods; there always had to be fishing rods.

Family holidays were spent on the South Coast alongside the most tranquil lagoon setting. These holidays with my folks encouraged fishing excursions of all kinds. My determined dad was a lover of deep-sea fishing, fishing along the rocks and the collection of fresh mussels. The catch of the day was prepped with garlic (always LOTS of garlic) for our delicious seafood braais.

This is where their passion started 22 years ago. There was a limit to where someone could purchase fresh fish and chips in Jo’burg and my parents decided to open “Skippers” Fish and Chips.

My first job was working in the shop for a number of my teenage years. It is here that my business acumen sparked, setting me up for an entrepreneurial future. After years of pursuing my career in my field of study, beauty therapy, an opportunity of enduring the family passion and dream arose. The time came for my parents to retire and without hesitation, I purchased the business.

Years of business knowledge combined with my inherent passion and individuality drove the decision to disfranchise “Skippers” Fish and Chips and “Fine Fish Co.” was born.
